About Me
Hi, welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy your stay. My name is Laura and this is where I showcase some of my recent sessions. I enjoy capturing memories through photographs. I tend to like to keep things simple. I like to focus on the "windows to our soul"-- the eyes. I feel a photograph should speak to you through the eyes.
I shoot on location and in studio in Heber City, UT. I am available for travel worldwide. Please let me know how I can help capture your memories...it Means A Lot to me.
Call me at 435-503-1940 or email: laurameans@me.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
Photographers: I do offer one-on-one mentorships. Please contact me for more details.

Jack came almost 4 weeks early yet was still a big baby. He slept like a dream the whole session and we were able to capture a lot of different poses.

Jocelyn started a run of quite a few newborns. She was a feisty little one that didn’t want to sleep too much. Thankfully we got some great images for her parents.

I had the pleasure of meeting this great family today. The “W” family have a beautiful home in Midway and all 31 members of the family were staying there. Here is one quick sneak peek from their session…

Johanna: Wow. That's great. The family must be so happy to have this. Nice job!
I finally got it done. I quickly took some pictures the other day of my own kids. It had been far too long and I needed something to put on the Christmas card. I did everything I tell clients not to do. I didn’t even think about clothes until an hour before, I did not give my youngest a nap, and I fed my kids chocolate as a bribe and had to keep wiping faces as a result… Overall, the perfectionist in me sees all the flaws but I am happy I got them all smiling.

Johanna: You did a great job and I know what you mean by everything wrong. I'm so wonderful to other kids no matter how hard a time I'm having, but with my own, I threaten them unmercifully! :) Anything to get the shot, right? Beautiful kids; great smiles.
Now that Christmas sessions are all done and sent off, I thought I would give a few peeks at some of the sessions over the past month…
First up, SEVEN kids in studio. It was crazy and wild but we ended up with some great shots…

Six boys and only one daughter…

Next, there was a studio/outdoor combo session with these adorable kids…

Her name is Lucy…

I love the amazing sky we had…

The oldest two are best friends.

Finally, this family came to Park City/Heber for a ski vacation over Thanksgiving. You don’t have mountains like this in San Diego!

There are a few more sessions to post but I’ll save those for another day…
Johanna: That mountain shot doesn't even look real! We don't have those where I am either! Beautiful work. Your clients are very lucky!
Thanks for coming to see me “B” family. Your kids were so well behaved. It really made my job easy. We got lucky with great light despite the threat of rain. Here are a few from your session…

The sun peeked through for a few minutes and gave such beautiful warm light…

I love the fall colors.

Becky Eastman: These are beautiful. I LOVE the sunshine image so much! That one needs a big frame.
Trying to get caught up on my blogging here… This is the “W” family. They have 3 gorgeous girls and were a lot of fun to hang out with. Here is a little peek from your session. Enjoy!

I am caught up in the busy season with everyone wanting family portraits for their Christmas Cards and gifts. This is one recent session that I couldn’t help but blog. To all others waiting for a blog post, it will come soon! As a reminder, sessions will be blogged for sharing after orders are complete.
The C family was such a pleasure to photograph. Their girls knew exactly what to do and were so well behaved. Amy is a talented crafter and I get a lot of my hats and headbands from her for studio work. Check out her ETSY store here.
I still have a few openings for Christmas portraits. Contact me as soon as possible if you want an outdoor session. There will be snow on the ground before we know it!

Jenifer: Beautiful pictures. Those two girls are so adorable.
Becky Eastman: These are all great but the top one is my favorite! Love the beautiful colors!
I had the priviledge of particpating in the wedding of Blake and Michelle over the summer. This blog post is long overdue but we wanted to make sure we got some pictures put up for those that weren’t able to see these pictures on Facebook. Congratualtions you two. It was such a great day!
They were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Reception was held at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper.
