I am looking to update my newborn portfolio and am looking for a few models.
The details:
WHO: I need newborns under 10 days old, both boys and girls. The baby MUST be less than 10 days old when the session takes place.
WHERE: My studio in Heber City
WHEN: Anytime between now and April 15th.
WHAT YOU GET: You receive a FREE one to two hour “mini-newborn session”. My goal will be to capture one or two poses I would like for my portfolio. Depending on the temperament of the baby, we may have time for additional poses. For your time, you will receive a FREE 8×10 print ($50 value). You then have the option to purchase birth announcements, additional prints, gift items, etc. at regular price.
I will only be taking 5 sessions with this promotion. Please forward this on to any friends/family that are expecting a baby in the next 2 months.
Contact me at laurameans@me.com if you are interested.
Of course I can’t do a post without pictures…

I love seeing the flaky peeling skin…

Whenever I talk with parents that want to have their newborns photographed, I try and urge that pictures are taken within the first ten days of life. The babies are usually sleepier and they are easier to curl up. Although little Alex was 15 days old, he was still a perfect little boy. His mom did everything right to ensure he would sleep well. She had the heat turned up to 82 degrees in the house, she kept him awake before I came, and she fed him numerous times to ensure he was “milk drunk”. All of her efforts paid off and we were able to get some great captures. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I love 6 month olds! It is the perfect age for photographs. They are sitting and happy and have the cutest facial expressions. I think the best part is that they cannot move from where you put them. This sweet little boy was such a joy to have in studio yesterday. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I get asked all the time if I have a ton of pictures of my own kids. Sadly I always have to respond, “No.” Since I am always taking pictures of other people’s kids, I never take the time to photograph my own children. I hope to change that this year and give them equal time in front of the camera. Here is my gorgeous 4 1/2 year old daughter. She is my sweet, shy, caring one that is the peacemaker in our house. She can play for hours with any of her siblings and get along great. We love her!

I had the pleasure of doing a commercial shoot for Loopty Loo Designs. They make and sell gorgeous hats, headbands, hair clips, tutus, and bags for both children and adults. We had a great set of models that did great through the long hours it took to get all of their products photographed.
Check out Loopty Loo Designs at http://looptyloodesigns.blogspot.com OR at their ETSY store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/looptyloodesigns
Here is a small sampling of the products they are going to launch in the next few weeks.

I had so much fun playing with little 2 week old Aidon today. He is such a special boy named after both of his great-grandpas. Even thoug it took a few hours, we finally got him onto a deep sleep and were able to grab some great shots of him. Enjoy him while he is so little Tim and Nikki. He will be running before you know it!

Thank you everyone for all of the time you put into your Giving is Awesome entries. I am deeply humbled and blessed to be able to give my time to help someone going through a rough time in their lives. I have selected a winner and will be notifying the recipient on Christmas Eve.
With the exception of newborn clients, I will not be doing anymore photo sessions until January 20th. Once that time comes, I will be holding a day of pettiskirt mini-sessions to get ready for Valentines Day. Stay tuned for more information on that.
I want to take the time to thank all of my awesome clients for a great year and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. It is my hope that we can all take the time to truly appreciate and celebrate the true “reason for the season.”

Despite below zero temperatures and a foot of snow, we were able to get some great family pictures for this sweet family. We spent a total of ten minutes outside since it was so bitter cold. (I think it was -5 at the time)
Snow doesn’t have to keep you from getting family portraits. I will be running a “Winter Portrait” special after the New Year so you can have a memory of what our beautiful state looks like the other six months of the year.
In other news, I am officially on vacation from sessions until January. I plan on spending the next three weeks with my children enjoying the holidays and the snow, and then my husband and I will be off to Hawaii for 9 days beginning the day after Christmas. I will still be doing newborn sessions so please contact me so I can get you scheduled.
For now, enjoy the snow and the beautiful mountains…

Susie Collins: Oh my goodness. I love these. I have always wanted pictures in the snow. Your daughter is so cute!
